2008 model year

Changes for the '08 model year include different colors (a yellow/orange, bright blue, charcoal grey, silver, and at least on the ADV model, bright red) a different style of cast wheels, more HP (up 5%) and a slightly more angular look.

   

2005 model year

For the 2005 model year, BMW has completely updated the oilhead GS series with the new R1200GS. 30kg lighter, 100hp (up from 85hp), 8% better fuel economy, a 6-speed gearbox with a usable 6th gear (not an "overdrive/economy" gear as with the R1150GS), a computer controlled "single wire" wiring harness, a choice of cast or wire wheels, among other changes.
